Stornoway is the successful tenderer for the design, construction and operation of a wastewater treatment plant at Kettering, Tasmania for the State Government Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER).

The plant will service the Bruny Island Visitors Centre, Oyster Cove Inn, a marina and a new residential unit development located at the Inn.

This is the first wastewater treatment plant to be constructed in Tasmania by Stornoway, with the project combining the expertise of two key parts of the business – water engineering and civil construction.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity presented by winning this tender. Stornoway has already designed, constructed and installed more than 30 water and wastewater treatment plants across Australia and South-East Asia but this is the first in our home state,” said Managing Director, Tim Gardner.
“It’s also a unique opportunity for us to combine our civil construction expertise with our water and wastewater engineering and design capability to meet DIER’s requirements for the Visitors Centre.

“Stornoway’s service focus and our years of in-field experience mean we’re uniquely positioned to provide cost-effective and expert operations and maintenance of the plant for DIER,” Tim added.
