Stornoway Water has supplied a Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for the Mystic Sands Residential / Golf Course Development north of Townsville.

The project will be staged over a 10 year period to ultimately accommodate 800 lots. The initial Sewage Treatment Plant will service 50 lots and has been designed to expand to accommodate 100 lots for a minimal additional capital cost outlay. The expansion capability was seen by the Developer as a major benefit to the project.

Stornoway Water worked closely with the client and their consultant to provide the optimal solution to suit the development’s forecasted expansion requirements in the first 2-3 years.

Stornoway designed and supplied a 50kL/day AQEO Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Sewage Treatment Plant that can be easily expanded to 100kl/day for a small percentage of the original capital cost of the plant.

The plant will service both the residential properties and the golf course clubhouse. The Class ‘A’ recycled water produced by the plant will be used for golf course and landscaped gardens irrigation.
