Stornoway Water wins SA contract

Print EmailPosted on 02 March, 2009 in

Stornoway Water has recently supplied and installed a Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant for the Iluka Resources Jacinth Ambrosia Mineral Sands Mine Project in South Australia.

The plant is an AQEO® Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) that will produce Class ‘B’ recycled water and was manufactured and installed within three (3) weeks of receipt of Order.

The AQEO® RBC Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is ideally suited to fluctuating loads that are experienced at mine camp accommodation sites and other installations such as camping grounds and caravan parks.

RBC treatment plants are extremely robust, compact, cost effective plants that are easy to operate with minimal supervision and low operating costs.

The plant supplied has been designed for a 200 person accommodation camp and can be easily expanded if required. The recycled water produced will be used for irrigation providing the project with an environmentally sustainable solution for water reuse within the Department of Health Guidelines.

Stornoway Water can also supply the AQEO® RBC plant with an AQEO Ultrafiltration (UF) Polishing system that provides a very cost effective method of producing Class ‘A’ recycled water to EPA Guidelines.

This packaged combination is particularly advantageous for installations that have lower flow rate requirements, typically 5 KL to 60 KL /day, and require high quality treated effluent for maximum reuse capabilities such as above ground irrigation, dust suppression, washdowns etc.
