Aqeo® AS
Fluid thinking in activated sludge treatment.
Achieving biological nutrient removal to 10mg/l nitrogen, the Aqeo® AS (activated sludge) produces an effluent suitable for controlled re-use or disposal. The system incorporates our proprietary biological treatment process based on extended aeration. This process provides flexibility in flow demands, in addition to producing a high standard of effluent quality with virtually no odours.
Flow balancing is incorporated into the design of the plant to enable the daily peaks to be absorbed, while the normal treatment processes are undertaken. This enables the plant to spread the load over the day resulting in a higher quality final effluent being produced.
Dissolved oxygen monitoring and variable speed control of the aeration equipment also results in both the maximisation of plant power efficiency and the creation of the ideal conditions for optimum treatment.
The system includes an aerobic digester to further treat any excess sludge and keep pump-out to a minimum.
Delivering a fully integrated solution.
Excellent nutrient removal
Aqeo® AS plants incorporate biological nutrient removal as a key aspect of design. The Aqeo® AS treatment process ensures that discharge effluent meets and exceeds most EPA and council regulatory requirements, as well as minimising the negative impact on the environment.
Poly tank integration
Aqeo® AS wastewater treatment plants utilise poly tanks to reduce expensive steel costs and lower the cost of freighting treatment plants to their end location. The use of poly tanks also greatly increases the flexibilty to expand the treatment plant as demand grows.
Odourless aerobic digestion
Aqeo® AS plants include odourless aerobic sludge digestion. Through removal of excess activated sludge from the plant to a digester, tank biomass levels are kept at an optimum level resulting in effluent levels that consistently meet the highest EPA standards. Sludge digestion means a pump-out is required much less frequently than when using systems without a digester – on average once every 6-12 months rather than once every 3-6 months.
Flow balancing
Elimination of inflow fluctuations is critical to achieving optimal plant performance.
Aqeo® AS wastewater treatment plants all incorporate flow balancing designed to cope with peak flow rates.
Most importantly, this ensures the reactors are able to treat all inflow at the same process rate resulting in better effluent and no undue strain on the system.
Effective clarification
Aqeo® AS plants incorporate sludge recycles, surface skimmers and hopper bases to ensure optimal operating performance and reduction of suspended solids (SS).
Lower installation costs
Aqeo® AS plants are factory built and tested, minimising on-site time and saving on plant commissioning costs.
Ease of maintenance
The robustness of the Aqeo® AS system design results in consistent performance and lower maintenance costs. All Aqeo® AS plants use 3 phase motors for a lower amp draw to save on costs and increase reliability All pumps also have 316 stainless steel wet components for prolonged life and reliability.
