In this hands-on role, reporting to the CFO, you will thrive in the autonomy of taking 100% ownership of the company’s accounting function; from the day-to-day up to holistic business process improvements.

In particular, you will be responsible for:

  • Financial & management reporting (including monthly profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflows), budgets, job costing, cashflow forecasting, intercompany accounting, PAYG, payroll, variance analysis, Tax
  • Trend analysis of revenues, gross profit, expenses, EBITDA, profit before tax, and capital efficiencies (including working capital/liquidity etc)
  • Tax planning and compliance
  • Financial modelling
  • Ensuring corporate governance/regulatory compliance
  • Providing value-add commercial/strategic input.

You will be joining a team of eight finance professionals, as the business continues on its exciting growth path. We would be looking to fully leverage your accounting expertise and influence strategic business decision-making with your accounting nous and high commercial acumen.

We are interested in hearing from you if you:

  • Are degree qualified in accounting, or similar, and are fully CA/CPA qualified
  • Have 5-10 years (or more) hands-on accounting experience
  • Have proven experience in financial and management reporting and strong process/systems review/internal control management skills
  • Have high accuracy/attention to detail with high commercial acumen  with outstanding communication and people interaction skills
  • Have advanced Excel skills
  • Change management experience, in relation to software and process changes
  • Are proactive, efficient, deadline driven and have proven ability to thrive in a busy fast-paced environment
  • Are seeking a full-spectrum hands-on role with lots of variety.

While no experience delivering any of the above mentioned skills and attributes in a civil construction, infrastructure services or general construction organisation is required; it would be advantageous.

This exciting position will be based at our head office in North Hobart. Relocation assistance is available for the successful candidate. Hobart is an energetic, vibrant and proud city.
